Spring Valley School of Professional Hunting

Chappie Scott and Stacey de Jager run an 11 day professional hunting school, teaching and assessing all the skills required to become a Professional Hunter.  They have combined their extensive knowledge together with some excellent lecturers and assessors to provide you with excellent training. 

Below are some of the topics which will be covered during the course:

  • Practical hunting
  • Skinning
  • Tracking
  • Shooting
  • Catering
  • Theoretical lectures and exams
  • A visit to a game reserve to identify fauna, flora and spoor
  • A shotgun course including clay pigeon shooting.
  • First Aid course

On completion of registration, you will be partnered with another person attending the course. Together you will host a day, and you will be required to cater for a evening meal for up to 14 guests.  

Competency in Handle and use of a Manual Rifle is required before attending a course.  If you have not previously completed this, it can be done with us while on the school at an additional cost.

  • Textbook: A practical guide to hunting.  This is available from most book stores, and we recommend you read this book before attending the course.
