Swallow Krantz Farm is set in a rural area 40km from Tarkastad, and makes for the ideal family get away.

Swallow Krantz has been home to many cultures, which include the early Bushmen, Dutch settlers, as well as the Scottish settlers.  Each of these cultures have left their mark at Swallow Krantz, making it an exciting farm to explore.  Bushmen paintings can be found on the rock faces at Swallow Krantz, as well as many neighbouring properties.  The Dutch settlers built a very impressive water mill, which can still be seen on the farm today.

The Scottish settlers established a half way house at Swallow Krantz for travellers passing by to rest their oxen, and to spend the night, and we have continued the tradition of running Swallow Krantz as a hospitality establishment, and we would like to invite you to enjoy our farm and hospitality.

The Winterberg area offers many interesting walks, and some of the best bird watching spots in South Africa.

Our farm is also the ideal place for group  get togethers, weather it be for business or pleasure.  There are also conference facilities available.

Please contact us to arrange a wonderful stay in the Winterberg.
